Three studios made three different kinds of Naruto game at the same time — arena fighters on the GameCube and Wii, cinematic fighters on PlayStation, brawlers and RPGs on the GBA and DS — and half of Japan’s games never left the country. Below are all 29 Naruto games released in Europe, in order, with the Nintendo versions marked and buying notes on the Wii discs we stock and test.
The short answer
Nintendo line: Clash of Ninja 1 and 2 (GameCube, 2006) → Clash of Ninja Revolution 1, 2 and 3 (Wii, 2007–09). PlayStation line: Ultimate Ninja 1–5 (PS2, 2006–09) → Ultimate Ninja Storm 1–4 (2008–16) → Storm Connections (2023, also on Switch). Handhelds: Ninja Council (GBA/DS), Path of the Ninja (DS), Powerful Shippuden (3DS). Nothing needs playing in order — it is the manga’s story every time.

Which Naruto game should you buy now?
- Everything on one cartridge: Storm Connections on Switch — every Storm fighter, region-free.
- The Wii fighter: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 — the biggest roster of the Nintendo line.
- The story, cinematically: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on PS4.
- Something different: Path of the Ninja on the DS — a turn-based RPG for a train journey.
Buying Naruto games second-hand
Three lines, three studios
Clash of Ninja (GameCube and Wii) is Eighting’s 3D-arena fighter; Ultimate Ninja and Storm (PlayStation, later everything) are CyberConnect2’s cinematic fighters; the GBA and DS games are brawlers and RPGs by other hands. "Naruto fighting game" means a different thing on each console — the notes above say which is which.
The Wii games are the Nintendo fighters to get
Clash of Ninja Revolution 1, 2 and 3 are complete fighting games with big rosters, and Revolution 3 is the fullest. All three play with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or a Classic Controller — a GameCube controller works too on the early Wii models. PAL discs for a European Wii; they also run on a Wii U.
Storm on Switch: three cartridges
Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy (2018) carries Storm 1, 2 and 3 on one Switch cartridge; Storm 4 Road to Boruto followed in 2020; Storm Connections (2023) has the full modern roster. Legacy (Storm 1–4 in one box) stayed on PlayStation and Xbox. All three cartridges are region-free.
Ultimate Ninja 5 is a European exclusive
The last PS2 Ultimate Ninja was released in Europe and never in North America, which makes the PAL disc the only version there is — a small collector item for the series.

Do I need to play the Naruto games in order?
No — each game retells a stretch of the manga, so the story is the same one you know from the series. If you want it in order, follow the Storm games: Storm (the original series) → Storm 2 → Storm 3 → Storm 4 (Shippuden to the end), or take Storm Connections, which spans all of it.
How many Naruto games are there?
Twenty-nine released in Europe or North America, from Ninja Council (2006) to Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections (2023), which is what this page lists. Japan had roughly twice as many, including the earlier Clash of Ninja and Ultimate Ninja games that never left the country.
Which Naruto games are on Nintendo consoles?
Clash of Ninja 1 and 2 on GameCube; Clash of Ninja Revolution 1, 2 and 3 on Wii; Ninja Council 1 and 2 on GBA; Ninja Council 3 and 4, Path of the Ninja 1 and 2 and Ninja Destiny 2 on DS; Powerful Shippuden on 3DS; and Storm Trilogy, Storm 4 Road to Boruto and Storm Connections on Switch.
What is the best Naruto game?
Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 for the cinematic fights and the end of the story; Storm Connections if you want the whole roster on a current console. On the Wii, Clash of Ninja Revolution 3.
Is there a Naruto game on the Switch?
Three: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy (Storm 1–3), Storm 4 Road to Boruto, and Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. All three are cartridges and region-free.
