All Pokémon Rumble games in order
Pokémon Rumble is the toy-Pokémon spin-off: wind-up figures brawling through short stages instead of trainers and gyms. Five games came out in ten years, one of them under two names, and three of them only as downloads that can no longer be bought. Below are all five releases in order, with the platforms linked — the two 3DS cartridges are the copies we stock and test — and buying notes that say which ones still exist.
The short answer
Pokémon Rumble (2009, WiiWare) → Super Pokémon Rumble, called Rumble Blast in America (2011, 3DS) → Rumble U (2013, Wii U) → Rumble World (2015, 3DS) → Rumble Rush (2019, mobile, shut down). Only the two 3DS games are on a cartridge; buy Rumble World.

Do you have to play them in order?
No. Each Rumble game starts from scratch with a new set of toy Pokémon, and there is no story to carry over. What order does show is the roster growing with the main series — a Kanto and Sinnoh cast on Wii, all 649 on Super Pokémon Rumble, over 700 in Rumble World — and the shift from a paid download to a free-to-start game with a complete retail cartridge.
Which Pokémon Rumble should you buy now?
- The complete one: Pokémon Rumble World on a retail cartridge — 3,000 Poké Diamonds included, no purchases needed.
- The earlier, harder one: Super Pokémon Rumble / Rumble Blast — match the region to your 3DS.
- For younger players: either 3DS game — simple controls, short stages, PEGI 7.

Buying Pokémon Rumble second-hand
Super Pokémon Rumble is Pokémon Rumble Blast
The 2011 3DS game has two names: Super Pokémon Rumble in Europe, Pokémon Rumble Blast in America. Same game — but the 3DS is region-locked, so a European 3DS or 2DS needs the European cartridge. Our listings state the region.
Only two Rumble games exist on a cartridge
Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare) and Rumble U (Wii U) were downloads, and both shops have closed; Rumble Rush is gone entirely. Super Pokémon Rumble and Rumble World on 3DS are the two you can still buy and play — which is why they are the ones we stock.
The Rumble World cartridge is the complete version
The retail Pokémon Rumble World (2015/16) comes with 3,000 Poké Diamonds — the currency the free eShop version sold as in-game purchases — so the balloons and extras are within reach from the start. A boxed copy is the better version, not just the physical one.

Do I need to play the Pokémon Rumble games in order?
No. There is no story to follow; each game is its own set of stages with a new roster of toy Pokémon. Pokémon Rumble World is the largest and the easiest to buy, so start there.
How many Pokémon Rumble games are there?
Five: Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare, 2009), Super Pokémon Rumble / Rumble Blast (3DS, 2011), Pokémon Rumble U (Wii U, 2013), Pokémon Rumble World (3DS, 2015) and Pokémon Rumble Rush (mobile, 2019). Only the two 3DS games came on a cartridge.
Is Super Pokémon Rumble the same as Pokémon Rumble Blast?
Yes. Super Pokémon Rumble is the European title and Pokémon Rumble Blast the American one, for the same 3DS game with the first 649 Pokémon.
Can I still play Pokémon Rumble Rush?
No. The mobile game was shut down in July 2020 and cannot be downloaded or played any more. Rumble World on 3DS is the closest playable equivalent.
Which Pokémon Rumble should I buy?
Pokémon Rumble World on a retail cartridge — the biggest roster (over 700 Pokémon) and 3,000 Poké Diamonds included. Super Pokémon Rumble if you want the earlier, tougher one.
