Do Wii games work on the Wii U?
Yes — the Wii U plays virtually the entire Wii library and accepts Wii Remotes. The reverse is not true: Wii U discs do not work on a Wii.
Are Wii games region-locked?
Yes, the Wii is region-locked. We sell European (PAL) discs, which work on any European Wii. Buying from outside Europe? Check your console’s region first.
Does the Wii play GameCube games too?
The original Wii models with GameCube controller ports do. The later Family Edition dropped that support — if GameCube compatibility matters, that detail decides which console to buy.
Which controllers do I need?
Most games use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk; some use the Classic Controller or Balance Board. Where a game needs something specific (like MotionPlus for Skyward Sword), the product page says so.
What does shipping cost outside the Netherlands?
