All Just Dance games in order
Just Dance is Ubisoft’s yearly dance game, and the numbering is designed to confuse: the first four are numbered, everything after is named after the year that follows its release, and the last four editions came as a download code in an empty-looking box. Below are all seventeen yearly editions in order, with the platforms linked — because the Wii, Wii U and Switch discs and cartridges are the copies we stock and test — and the spin-offs kept apart.
The short answer
Just Dance (2009) → 2 → 3 → 4 (2012) → 2014 → 2015 → 2016 → 2017 → 2018 → 2019 → 2020 (the last Wii game) → 2021 → 2022 (the last real Switch cartridge) → 2023 Edition → 2024 → 2025 → 2026 Edition (2025). Every edition has its own songs; none replaces another.

The spin-offs, kept apart
Alongside the yearly games Ubisoft released Just Dance Kids (2010) and Just Dance Kids 2 (2011) for younger dancers, Just Dance: Disney Party (2012) and Disney Party 2 (2015) with Disney songs, the mobile Just Dance Now (2014) that turns a phone into the controller, and Just Dance VR (2024) for headsets. They use the same idea but carry their own tracklists; none of them is part of the numbered line above.
Which Just Dance should you buy now?
- Family party on a Wii: any edition from Just Dance 2 to 2020 — four Wii Remotes, and the discs are cheap.
- On a Switch or Switch 2: Just Dance 2019 to 2022 for a real cartridge; from the 2023 Edition on you are buying a code.
- The most songs for the least money: two older editions instead of one new one — the tracklists do not overlap.
- Kids under eight: Just Dance Kids or Disney Party, with slower choreographies.
Buying Just Dance second-hand
From the 2023 Edition on, the box holds a code, not a game
Just Dance 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 Edition ship as a download code in a box on every platform. Second-hand that code is almost always used, so the box is worth nothing. Want a cartridge or disc you can lend, sell or play offline? Buy Just Dance 2022 or older.
Every edition is its own tracklist
A new Just Dance does not replace the old one: each year brings around forty new songs and drops the previous ones. Buy the edition with the songs you want, not the newest one by default — the older Wii and Switch editions play the same way.
Wii discs are region-locked, Switch cartridges are not
A European Wii needs a PAL disc; all our Wii and Wii U discs are PAL. Switch cartridges are region-free and run on Switch 2 as well.
What you need to dance
On Wii, one Wii Remote per player. On Switch, one Joy-Con per player — or the free Just Dance Controller app on a phone, which works with every Switch edition from 2017 on. The songs on the disc or cartridge always work offline; the Unlimited streaming catalogue is a subscription, and Ubisoft has switched it off for the oldest editions.

What is the newest Just Dance?
Just Dance 2026 Edition, released in October 2025 for Switch, Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series. A new edition arrives every autumn, named after the year that follows.
Which Just Dance was the last on the Wii?
Just Dance 2020 (released 2019) — it was the last game published for the Wii at all. Just Dance 2019 was the last edition on Wii U.
Do I need to buy a new Just Dance every year?
No. The gameplay barely changes; only the tracklist does. Pick the year with the songs you like, and know that from the 2023 Edition on the box only contains a download code.
Does Just Dance work on the Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. Every Switch edition runs on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, and the 2026 Edition has its own Switch 2 release.
