Who does this

Every game goes through one pair of hands.

I’ve been collecting since 2018. I know what a real label looks like, whether a Pokémon save survives the console being switched off, and how to spot a fake EEPROM. That’s why I test every game before it goes out the door.

Ordering from Ireland — the rules

What you want to know before you buy: customs, console region, plugs, payment and returns — no small print.

Customs & VAT

Ireland and the Netherlands are both inside the EU customs union: no customs, no import duty and no import VAT — unlike a parcel from Great Britain since Brexit. We sell under the margin scheme, so no VAT is added to the price; the amount at checkout is the final amount and nothing is due on delivery.

Will it play on my console?

Our games are European PAL editions — the same region as any console sold in Ireland or bought from a UK retailer. Even the region-locked systems (3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, SNES) play them without any trick, and Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, Switch, PS4 and PS5 are region-free anyway. The one exception is the NES: Ireland and the UK had its PAL-A version, mainland Europe PAL-B, and the two do not start each other’s cartridges — the product page says which one a copy is, or ask us.

Power & plugs

Consoles come with a European power supply (230 V); Irish mains is 230 V as well. Only the plug differs: the two-pin Europlug needs a simple adapter for the three-pin Type G socket used in Ireland — no voltage converter. The Game Boy family runs on batteries anyway.

Payment

You pay in euros — credit card, PayPal, Klarna or pay by bank. No conversion and no exchange fees: the amount at checkout is the final amount, and nothing is due on delivery.

Returns

30 days to return your order, to our address in the Netherlands — inside the EU, so no customs form and nothing to declare. The return postage is at your own cost, unless the item is faulty or we made a mistake; then we pay it and you get the full amount back.

Which language will I play in?

Our cartridges are the English edition unless the name says otherwise (German edition, Japanese edition). Up to and including the DS, every Pokémon game runs in one language per cartridge; from X/Y on the 3DS and on the Switch you choose at start-up between English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Korean, and from Sun & Moon also Chinese — Pokémon has never been released in any other language. For other games the product page lists the language as soon as it is established; if nothing is listed, ask us in the chat.

Shipped from the Netherlands

  • Your order leaves our own stock in Enter, the Netherlands, and travels to you with PostNL — always tracked, so you know exactly where your parcel is.
  • Ireland and the Netherlands are both inside the EU customs union: no customs, no import duty and no import VAT — unlike a parcel from Great Britain since Brexit. We sell under the margin scheme, so no VAT is added to the price; the amount at checkout is the final amount and nothing is due on delivery.
  • Not what you hoped for after all? Send it back within 30 days to our Dutch address — more generous than the 14 days the law requires.
Delivery time to Ireland5-10 business days

We ship from the Netherlands, inside the EU: no customs, no import duty and no import VAT — unlike a parcel from Great Britain since Brexit, the amount at checkout is the final amount. It does take a little longer than a delivery from within Ireland.

Why does shipping from the Netherlands cost more than at home?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — €6.37, tracking included. Across the border that same small tracked parcel costs from €8.75. The difference is the route: PostNL takes it across the border, and the postal service of the destination country delivers it to the door — each charges for its part of the trip.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Frequently asked from Ireland

Do you ship to Ireland?

Yes, to every county. Every order leaves our stock in Enter, the Netherlands, on the next working day and travels to Ireland with PostNL — always tracked to your door. Delivery time 5-10 business days. At checkout you enter your Eircode (for example D02 X285); the form knows the Irish format.

What does shipping to Ireland cost?

At most €16.00 for games or a handheld console (up to 2 kg, priced by weight) and €28.75 for a home console or anything heavier. Ireland is one PostNL zone beyond Germany and France, which is why it costs a little more than a parcel to the continent; a second game adds only a little. You see the exact amount in your cart as soon as you choose Ireland — and that is exactly what you pay.

Will I pay customs or VAT, like on a parcel from the UK?

No. Ireland and the Netherlands are both in the EU, so there is no customs declaration, no import duty and no import VAT — the opposite of a parcel from Great Britain since Brexit. We sell under the margin scheme, so no VAT is added to the price either. The amount at checkout is the final amount, and nobody collects anything at the door.

How can I pay from Ireland?

Through Mollie, a payment provider regulated by the Dutch Central Bank: credit card, PayPal, Klarna or pay by bank, and on your phone Apple Pay and Google Pay. You pay in euros — no conversion, no exchange fees. The payment page appears in English.

Are the games authentic?

Every cartridge is personally tested and checked for authenticity before it goes online — label finish, product code, weight and a working save function, plus the security screw and the board inside on Game Boy cartridges. If you ever receive a fake from us: money back.

Do PAL games from the Netherlands work on my console?

Yes. Our games are European PAL editions — the same region as any console sold in Ireland or bought from a UK retailer. Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, Switch, PS4 and PS5 have no region lock at all; 3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, SNES and NES do, but a European console plays a European edition without any trick. Product pages state the region for every item.

Do the consoles work with Irish plugs?

Yes. Consoles come with a European power supply for 230 V — the same voltage as Ireland. Only the plug differs: the European two-pin plug needs a simple adapter for the Irish three-pin socket, the same one you would pack for a trip to the continent — no voltage converter. The Game Boy family runs on batteries anyway.

What about returns from Ireland?

You have 30 days — more than the 14 days the law requires. Send us a message and we will sort it out together; the return goes to our address in the Netherlands, inside the EU, so no customs form. The return postage is at your own cost, unless the item is faulty or we made a mistake — then we pay it and you get the full amount back.
