Who does this

Every game goes through one pair of hands.

I’ve been collecting since 2018. I know what a real label looks like, whether a Pokémon save survives the console being switched off, and how to spot a fake EEPROM. That’s why I test every game before it goes out the door.

Rates are based on the official PostNL rates (2026). Up to £135 in goods our prices include the 20% UK VAT; above that, import VAT and Royal Mail’s fee are not included — see the rules below. There is no free shipping to the UK: a parcel across the Channel always costs postage.

Ordering from the UK — the rules

What you want to know before you buy: customs and VAT, console region, power, payment and returns — no small print.

Customs & VAT

The UK has been outside the EU customs union since Brexit. On orders up to £135 in goods (excluding shipping), the 20% UK VAT is included in our prices and we pay it to HMRC ourselves — nothing to pay on delivery. Above £135 it is a regular import: the checkout price then excludes UK VAT, and Royal Mail collects 20% import VAT on the goods and shipping, any customs duty and a handling fee before delivery. Northern Ireland (BT postcodes) follows EU rules for goods: no customs and no UK VAT.

Will it play on my console?

Our games are European PAL editions — the same region as any console sold in the UK. Even the region-locked systems (3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, SNES) play them without any trick, and Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, Switch, PS4 and PS5 are region-free anyway. The one exception is the NES: the UK had its PAL-A version, mainland Europe PAL-B, and the two do not start each other’s cartridges — the product page says which one a copy is, or ask us.

Power & plugs

Consoles come with a European power supply (230 V); UK mains is 230 V too. Only the plug differs: the two-pin Europlug needs a simple adapter for the three-pin Type G socket used in the UK — no voltage converter. The Game Boy family runs on batteries anyway.

Payment

You pay in pounds sterling — credit card, PayPal, Klarna or pay by bank. The amount at checkout is what your card, Klarna or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; up to £135 in goods it already includes the 20% UK VAT.

Returns

30 days to return, to our address in the Netherlands, tracked. Mark the customs form of the return parcel “returned goods”, so no Dutch import tax is charged.

Which language will I play in?

Our cartridges are the English edition unless the name says otherwise (German edition, Japanese edition). Up to and including the DS, every Pokémon game runs in one language per cartridge; from X/Y on the 3DS and on the Switch you choose at start-up between English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Korean, and from Sun & Moon also Chinese — Pokémon has never been released in any other language. For other games the product page lists the language as soon as it is established; if nothing is listed, ask us in the chat.

Shipped from the Netherlands

  • Your order leaves our own stock in Enter, the Netherlands, and travels to you with PostNL — always tracked, so you know exactly where your parcel is.
  • The UK has been outside the EU customs union since Brexit.
  • Not what you hoped for after all? Send it back within 30 days to our Dutch address — one message and we sort it out together.
Delivery time to the UK4-7 business days

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the Channel, so it takes a little longer than a domestic delivery. On orders up to £135 in goods the 20% UK VAT is already in our price and nothing is added at the door; above £135 it is a regular import, and Royal Mail collects the import VAT, any duty and its fee before delivery.

Why does shipping to the UK cost more than at home?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits in a small tracked packet for £6.41. To the UK that same tracked packet costs from £8.10. The difference is the route: across the North Sea, through UK customs, and with Royal Mail to your door — PostNL charges for every step of it.

That amount covers the PostNL rate plus the packaging: a padded mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. Several games share one parcel, priced by weight — a second game adds only a little. We never drop the tracking: on a parcel that crosses a customs border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Secure payment

  • Payment via Mollie — regulated by the Dutch central bank, encrypted.
  • Authenticity guarantee: if a game is ever fake, money back.

You pay in pounds sterling

The price you see is the price you are charged, in pounds — our prices follow the ECB exchange rate at a fixed shop rate, with the 20% UK VAT included on orders up to £135. Klarna, Pay by Bank, card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay all work, and your bank converts nothing.

Frequently asked from the UK

Do you ship to the UK?

Yes — to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every order leaves our stock in Enter, the Netherlands, on the next working day and travels with PostNL, delivered by Royal Mail — always tracked to your door. Delivery time 4-7 business days.

What does shipping to the UK cost?

From £8.10 for one game, at most £12.82 for more games or a handheld console (up to 2 kg, priced by weight) and £28.92 for a home console or anything heavier. That is PostNL’s rate by weight plus packaging; there is no free shipping to the UK. You see the exact amount in your basket as soon as you choose the United Kingdom — and that is exactly what you pay.

Will I pay VAT or customs on delivery?

Not on orders up to £135 in goods (shipping not counted): the 20% UK VAT is already in our prices and we pay it to HMRC ourselves, so nothing is added at the door. Above £135 it is a regular import: the checkout takes the UK VAT off the price, and Royal Mail collects the 20% import VAT on the goods and shipping, any customs duty and its handling fee before delivery. Northern Ireland (BT postcodes) follows EU rules for goods: no customs and no UK VAT. One thing for now: orders up to £135 open as soon as HMRC confirms our UK VAT registration — orders over £135, and to Northern Ireland, can be placed today. The checkout tells you before you pay.

How can I pay from the UK?

Through Mollie, a payment provider regulated by the Dutch Central Bank: credit card, PayPal, Klarna or pay by bank, and on your phone Apple Pay and Google Pay. You pay in pounds sterling at our fixed shop rate — your bank converts nothing. The payment page appears in English.

Are the games authentic?

Every cartridge is personally tested and checked for authenticity before it goes online — label finish, product code, weight and a working save function, plus the security screw and the board inside on Game Boy cartridges. If you ever receive a fake from us: money back.

Do PAL games from the Netherlands work on my UK console?

Yes. Our games are European PAL editions — the same region as consoles sold in the UK — so they run on UK consoles, including the region-locked systems (3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, SNES). The one exception is the NES: the UK had its PAL-A version, mainland Europe PAL-B, and the two do not start each other’s cartridges. Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, Switch, PS4 and PS5 are region-free anyway. Product pages state the region for every item.

Do the consoles work on UK power?

Yes. Consoles come with a European power supply for 230 V — the same voltage as the UK. Only the plug differs: a simple adapter for the UK Type G socket is all you need, no voltage converter.

What about returns from the UK?

You have 30 days to return your order. Send us a message and we will sort it out together; the return goes to our address in the Netherlands. Mark the customs form “returned goods” so no Dutch import tax is charged. If something does not work, the return is on us.
