The United Arab Emirates are outside the EU. Goods worth up to AED 1,000 are free of customs duty (Dubai Customs, since 3 August 2026), but UAE VAT of 5% applies to imported goods; Emirates Post collects it before delivery. Above AED 1,000, 5% customs duty is added as well. None of this is included in the price at checkout.
Our games are European PAL editions. Consoles from several regions are sold in the Emirates, and region-locked systems (3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, SNES, NES) only start a European game on a European console. Region-free systems play every edition: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS, Switch, PS4 and PS5. Not sure about your console? Ask us in the chat.
Consoles come with a European power supply (230 V), the same voltage as the UAE. Only the plug differs: a travel adapter for the British-style Type G socket is all you need.
You pay in UAE dirhams — Credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The amount at checkout is what your card is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing. Prefer PayPal? Choose euros at checkout.
30 days to return, to our address in the Netherlands. Mark the customs form of the return parcel “returned goods”, so no Dutch import tax is charged.
We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Goods worth up to AED 1,000 are free of customs duty, but UAE VAT of 5% applies to imports; above AED 1,000, 5% duty is added. Emirates Post collects it before delivery — it is not included in the price at checkout.
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — AED 18.18, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the AED 148.57 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
You pay in UAE dirhams
The price you see is the price you are charged, in UAE dirhams — our prices follow the ECB exchange rate at a fixed shop rate. Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay and Google Pay all work, and your bank converts nothing. PayPal works in euros: choose euros at checkout.
