The model most people mean by "a DS": slimmer than the original, four brightness levels, and the last one with a Game Boy Advance slot — so it doubles as a GBA player. If you own GBA cartridges, this is the console to buy.
Nintendo DSi XLLargest screens · no GBA slot
Screens roughly 93% larger than the DS Lite and a viewing angle wide enough to share. The trade-off is the missing GBA slot. The most comfortable DS for long sessions and for anyone who wants a bigger picture.
Nintendo DSiTwo cameras · SD slot · no GBA slot
Thinner than the Lite, with two cameras, an SD card slot and a brighter screen — but Nintendo removed the GBA slot to get there. The Pokémon Black and White editions in Reshiram and Zekrom livery came from this generation.

We ship exclusively from the Netherlands. Your parcel therefore crosses a border: it takes longer than a domestic delivery, and shipping costs more than it would at a seller in your own country.
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — €4.40, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the €14.95 – €19.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
The original DS and the DS Lite have a Game Boy Advance slot and play GBA cartridges. The DSi and DSi XL do not — Nintendo removed the slot in 2009. If GBA games matter to you, buy a DS Lite.
Regular DS cartridges are region-free and play on any DS worldwide. The handful of DSi-enhanced titles (Pokémon Black and White among them) are region-locked on DSi and 3DS consoles. We sell European consoles and European games, so they work together.
No, and the cartridge will not physically fit — a 3DS card has a tab that a DS slot rejects. It works the other way round: every 3DS and 2DS plays DS games.
These batteries are fifteen years old or more, so capacity is down from new — that is expected, not a fault. We test that every console charges and runs on its own battery and note in the listing how it performed. Replacements are cheap and simple to fit.
We ship tracked to all 27 EU countries. A console travels as a parcel: €21,95 to Germany, France, Italy and Spain, €23,95 to Denmark and Austria, €28,95 to Sweden. The exact rate for your country appears at checkout before you pay — and there are no customs charges anywhere inside the EU.
