Nintendo 3DS family · Shipped across the EU
The eShop shut in March 2023, which makes the cartridge and the console the only way in — and that is exactly what we deal in. Every 3DS-family console here is opened, checked and tested: both screens, the hinge, the card reader, the charging. A Dutch retro Nintendo specialist, shipping across the EU.
Both screens and the hinge tested
Dead pixels, a loose hinge and a worn card reader are what go wrong on this family. All three are checked.
Honest about condition
Scratches and scuffs are photographed, not hidden. A console with a tired battery says so in its listing.
Tracked EU shipping, 30-day returns
Sent from the Netherlands — no customs charges anywhere in the EU.
Five models, and the differences matter more than the names suggest — one of them plays games the others cannot.
New Nintendo 3DS XLLargest screens · C-stick · faster
The one to get if you only buy one. Bigger screens, a second analogue nub, extra ZL/ZR shoulder buttons and a faster processor — a handful of games (Xenoblade Chronicles 3D among them) run on this model and no other. Note that Nintendo shipped these without a charger in Europe.
Nintendo 3DS XLBig screens · original hardware
The 3DS grown up: roughly 90% larger screens than the original, same games, same 3D. No C-stick and no extra shoulder buttons, so the New-exclusive titles will not run.
Nintendo 3DSThe original · glasses-free 3D
Where the family started, and still the most pocketable clamshell of the four. Plays the entire 3DS and Nintendo DS library. Colours like Aqua Blue, Flame Red and Pearl Pink are the ones collectors ask for.
New Nintendo 2DS XLClamshell · no 3D · C-stick
The last handheld Nintendo made before the Switch: it folds like an XL, has the New models’ C-stick and speed, and simply leaves out the 3D. The lightest of the clamshells.
Nintendo 2DSFlat slate · no 3D · robust
A single flat wedge with no hinge to break, which is why it is the model people buy for children. Plays every 3DS and DS game — just in 2D.
Real photos, tested by hand. Every console is a one-off — what you see is what is on the shelf.

We ship exclusively from the Netherlands. Your parcel therefore crosses a border: it takes longer than a domestic delivery, and shipping costs more than it would at a seller in your own country.
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — €4.40, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the €14.95 – €19.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
Yes — the eShop closed in March 2023, but cartridges are unaffected. Every physical 3DS and DS game still installs, saves and plays exactly as before, which is why the second-hand cartridge market is the way in now.
Yes. Every 3DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS XL, 2DS and New 2DS XL plays original Nintendo DS cartridges. The other way round does not work — a 3DS cartridge does not fit a DS.
Yes, and this is the one to watch. A European (PAL) 3DS plays European games; Japanese and American cartridges will not start. We sell European consoles and European games, so they simply work together.
The New models (2015) added a C-stick, ZL and ZR shoulder buttons and a faster processor. A small number of games require that extra power and run only on a New 3DS or New 3DS XL; everything else plays on both.
Nintendo sold the XL models in Europe without one, so it depends on the console. Whether a charger is included is stated in every listing — and if it is not, we can add one.
We ship tracked to all 27 EU countries. A console travels as a parcel: €21,95 to Germany, France, Italy and Spain, €23,95 to Denmark and Austria, €28,95 to Sweden. The exact rate for your country appears at checkout before you pay — and there are no customs charges anywhere inside the EU.
