We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Kuwait has no VAT; Kuwaiti customs usually charges 5% import duty on the value of the goods, collected by Kuwait Post before delivery — it is not included in the price at checkout.
On your console in Kuwait: Works in Kuwait: this Game Boy runs on batteries and has no region lock, so Japanese, European and US games all play on it.
Kuwait is outside the EU and has no VAT. Kuwaiti customs usually charges 5% import duty on the value of the goods; Kuwait Post collects it before delivery. It is not included in the price at checkout. You pay in euros — Credit card or PayPal. Mollie does not process Kuwaiti dinars; next to every price you see the approximate amount in dinars, and your card converts the euro amount at its own rate.
Why does shipping abroad cost this much?
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — €4.40, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the €35.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product
Game Boy Color Pokemon Edition (Pikachu & Pichu) — a classic from the Pokémon series, among the most sought-after Nintendo games there are.
The yellow version with Pikachu and Pichu on the shell was released in Europe in 2001, in the days of Pokémon Gold and Silver.
Powered on and tested before shipping: screen, buttons and charging checked. Condition: see the photos of this exact unit — technically flawless.
The Game Boy / Color came out in 1998: colour screen on Game Boy hardware, backwards compatible with classic Game Boy cartridges. On original hardware the whole library runs the way it was meant to — no emulator stutter, no input lag.
Who is this for? Players who want to relive the retro era, parents passing their childhood on to their kids, and collectors completing their Game Boy / Color collection.
Works in Kuwait: this Game Boy runs on batteries and has no region lock, so Japanese, European and US games all play on it. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.
Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to Kuwait: from €53.95; no VAT in Kuwait, customs usually charges 5% duty on delivery. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?
For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.
- Does it work?
- Here: Screen, buttons, battery compartment and ports checked — exactly what’s included is listed with the item.
- Private seller: ‘Works fine’ — you find out at home.
- Is it original?
- Here: Shell and circuit board inspected; a replaced shell or screen is stated honestly.
- Private seller: A replaced screen or shell is rarely mentioned.
- If it disappoints?
- Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.
- Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
- Who’s behind it?
- Here: One person, who has held this device personally and answers your question personally.
- Private seller: Varies per listing.
Why you still remember this
The moment the screen got colour
Two AA batteries in, switch on, and then that logo rolling across the screen in colour. There was no light in the screen yet, so you looked for the lamp just like before — but now you could finally see what colour everything was.
One copy, this copy. Nintendo stopped making them more than twenty years ago. Every working console you still see is one somebody kept.

Which games work on this Game Boy / Color?
This handheld plays the classic Game Boy catalogue.
| Plays | Works? |
|---|---|
| Game Boy and Game Boy Color games | Yes |
- Game Boy and Game Boy Color games: Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges
Please note
- •A Game Boy Color plays both kinds; a classic Game Boy (grey or Pocket) does not play GBC-exclusive cartridges — those have a clear shell.
- •Game Boy cartridges are region-free.
What we see with Game Boy / Color consoles
Our experience
With a second-hand console, the difference rarely lies in the electronics and almost always in what you see and feel: the screen, the buttons and the battery compartment. Those are exactly the points we check on every device before it is shipped.
Our tip
With a second-hand handheld, look above all at the screen and the battery contacts — buttons can still be replaced later, a screen is a lot harder.

About Game Boy / Color
Game Boy / Color cartridges are compatible with both the original Game Boy and the Game Boy Color. They use colour on GBC hardware but also work (in black and white) on the original Game Boy. That gives maximum flexibility to players with both consoles.
- Dual-compatible — works on the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color.
- Popular titles: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.
- Recognisable by the black cartridge shell — grey is Game Boy-only, clear is Colour-only.
- The cartridge itself does not wear out; only the coin cell for the save can be flat after 25+ years, and it can be replaced.
Our tip: These cartridges also fit in the Game Boy Advance and GBA SP (backwards compatible), which makes them one of the most flexible cartridge types.
