We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Qatar has no VAT, and personal parcels worth up to QAR 1,000 enter free of customs duty; above that, Qatar charges 5% duty, collected by Qatar Post before delivery — it is not included in the price at checkout.

On your console in Qatar: Game Boy games have no region lock, so this European (PAL) edition plays on any Game Boy, whatever region it is from.

Qatar is outside the EU and has no VAT. Personal parcels worth up to QAR 1,000 are free of customs duty; above that, Qatar charges 5% customs duty, which Qatar Post collects before delivery. It is not included in the price at checkout. You pay in euros — Credit card or PayPal. Mollie does not process Qatari riyals; on the product page, in your cart and at checkout you see the approximate total in riyals, and your card converts the euro amount at its own rate.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — €4.40, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the €35.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product

Batman: The Video Game for Game Boy / Color — original Nintendo retro, personally checked.

Sunsoft’s Batman based on the 1989 film: five stages full of the Joker’s henchmen, a wall jump to reach higher ground and a soundtrack ranked among the best on the NES.

Who is this for? Collectors who want to put a loose game back in its original box, and anyone looking for an original box to complete a set. Note: the game itself is not included — this is the box only.

Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to Qatar: from €35.95; no VAT in Qatar and no customs duty on parcels up to QAR 1,000. 30-day returns.

Why you still remember this

The little screen you turned towards the street light

Playing in the back seat and hoping another lamp post would come before you reached that one tricky bit. Batteries that always ran out at the worst moment. And then came a Game Boy with colour, and you looked back at years of grey with different eyes.

One copy, this copy. Where a game saves its progress, it does so on a little battery in the cartridge — thirty years on, that’s the difference between carrying on and starting over.
