Shipping NZ$81.95 — your parcel leaves the Netherlands.

Order more than one and you share the shipping: a second game rides along free.

Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars). Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars); above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

On a New Zealand console: US (NTSC-U) edition on a region-locked system: it does not play on a New Zealand (PAL) Nintendo 3DS, only on a matching console or a region-free modded one.

New Zealand is outside the EU. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border: we are not registered for New Zealand GST, so nothing is added — Customs may only apply a small import levy of a few dollars per consignment. Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee, collected before delivery. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in New Zealand dollars — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — NZ$8.81, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the NZ$81.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for Nintendo 3DS — a title from the Mario universe, a cornerstone of any Nintendo collection.

Mario and Sonic compete together in Olympic sports.

Cartridge cleaned and tested on original hardware, ready to play.

The Nintendo 3DS came out in 2011: autostereoscopic 3D screen, StreetPass, backwards compatible with DS games. On the original cartridge the game runs the way it was meant to — and keeps working for years to come.

Who is this for? Anyone who would rather play on a real Nintendo 3DS than in an emulator — collectors who want the original in their hands, and players who simply want that feeling back.

US (NTSC-U) edition on a region-locked system: it does not play on a New Zealand (PAL) Nintendo 3DS, only on a matching console or a region-free modded one. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.

Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to New Zealand: from NZ$81.95; no GST or duty on orders up to NZ$1,000. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?

For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.

Does it work?
Here: Has been running here — save and label checked — before it went online.
Private seller: ‘Works’ in the photo. You test it yourself, after buying.
Is it genuine?
Here: Label, product code on the back, colour and shape of the card, and booting. A reproduction doesn’t get through.
Private seller: Fakes are a plague with Pokémon and GBA games, and in a photo you can’t tell the difference.
If it disappoints?
Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.
Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
Who’s behind it?
Here: One person, who has held this game personally and answers your question personally.
Private seller: Varies per listing.

Why you still remember this

The jump that’s still in your thumb

You only need to hear half a second of the opening tune and you’re back with the thing on your lap — in the back seat, or under the covers with the sound so low nobody heard. That one level you did twenty times until your timing was right — your fingers remember before your head does.

One copy, this copy. Second-hand means there’s no warehouse behind it: what’s here is what there is.
