Goods worth up to US$75 (shipping not counted) arrive without VAT or duty. Above US$75, Israel charges 18% VAT, collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee; above US$500 customs duty can be added — none of this is included in the price at checkout.
Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses a customs border, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Goods worth up to US$75 (shipping not counted) arrive without VAT or duty. Above US$75, Israel charges 18% VAT, collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee; above US$500 customs duty can be added too — none of this is included in the price at checkout.
On your console in Israel: NES games are region-locked: this European (PAL) edition plays on a European (PAL) NES — check the region of your console, or ask us in the chat.
Israel is outside the EU. If the goods in your parcel are worth US$75 or less, you pay nothing: personal imports up to that value are exempt, and shipping does not count towards it. From US$75 up to US$500, customs duty is waived but Israel charges 18% VAT (and purchase tax where it applies), collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee. Above US$500 the parcel is treated as a regular import, and customs duty and purchase tax can be added. Parcels from the same sender within 72 hours count together. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in Israeli shekels — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.
Why does shipping abroad cost this much?
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — ₪15.32, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the ₪125.19 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product
Tiger-Heli for NES — original Nintendo retro, personally checked.
Toaplan’s vertical helicopter shooter on the NES: bombs that wipe out everything around you and helper helicopters that fly alongside.
Cartridge cleaned and tested on original hardware, ready to play. Clear signs of use on the item, described honestly — the game works perfectly.
The NES came out in 1983: the console that reinvented the home market after the 1983 crash — Super Mario Bros., the first Zelda and Metroid. On the original cartridge the game runs the way it was meant to — and keeps working for years to come.
Who is this for? Anyone who would rather play on a real NES than in an emulator — collectors who want the original in their hands, and players who simply want that feeling back.
NES games are region-locked: this European (PAL) edition plays on a European (PAL) NES — check the region of your console, or ask us in the chat. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.
Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to Israel: from ₪125.19; no VAT or duty on goods up to US$75, above that Israel Post collects 18% VAT. 30-day returns.
Seen it cheaper elsewhere?
For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.
- Does it work?
- Here: Has been running here — save and label checked — before it went online.
- Private seller: ‘Works’ in the photo. You test it yourself, after buying.
- Is it genuine?
- Here: Six checks: screw, label, circuit board, weight, save and boot. A reproduction doesn’t get through.
- Private seller: Fakes are a plague with Pokémon and GBA games, and in a photo you can’t tell the difference.
- If it disappoints?
- Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.
- Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
- Who’s behind it?
- Here: One person, who has held this game personally and answers your question personally.
- Private seller: Varies per listing.
Why you still remember this
The grey box where it all began
Plug in, switch on, flashing screen, plug in again. And once it ran, there was nothing more important in the house. This is where it started for most people.
One copy, this copy. Forty years old, and no more are coming: every NES cartridge that still works is one somebody kept.
How we test NES games for authenticity
NES cartridges (1985-1995) are 30+ years old — fakes are everywhere, especially for top games (Mario, Zelda, Mega Man). We go through these five steps. Every NES game in our shop goes through this five-step check before it is sold.
- 1
NES front-loading cartridge format
Original NES cartridge: 13x12x2 cm grey plastic, with a 72-pin connector on the bottom (the Japanese Famicom has 60 pins — it does not fit). A fake sometimes has the wrong dimensions or plastic colour (often lighter).
- 2
Product code NES-XXXX
Label on the back: NES- prefix. NES-SMB-USA = Super Mario Bros USA. NES-ZL-NOE = The Legend of Zelda EU. No NES- prefix = fake.
- 3
Label + Nintendo Seal of Quality
Original label: sharp print, gold Seal of Quality. Fake: dull grey, missing Seal.
- 4
PCB + Nintendo branding
Open with a 3.8 mm gamebit (early cartridges: five Phillips screws). The PCB has "NINTENDO" engraved + the correct product code. Fakes have a generic PCB layout.
- 5
Boot + 72-pin connector check
Insert it into an original NES. The game sometimes only loads after re-inserting it 1-2 times (the 72-pin connector loses its springiness after 35+ years). Fake: crashes on the intro or shows the wrong graphics.
What we see with NES games
Our experience
NES cartridges (1985-1995) are 30+ years old. Wear on the contact pins is normal — some cartridges only start after inserting them 2-3 times. We clean the contacts before shipping. Fakes exist for top games (Super Mario Bros, Zelda, Mega Man).
Our tip
The NES has a 72-pin connector that wears out after 35+ years. Sometimes it helps to replace the connector — an inexpensive part. We check that cartridges start on a GOOD NES — if your own NES is worn, it can refuse original cartridges too.
About this specific copy
This copy is in "Fair condition" — working, but with visible wear (scratches, signs of use). Our grading is conservative.

About the Nintendo NES
The Nintendo Entertainment System (1983 in Japan as the Famicom, 1986 in Europe) is the console that breathed new life into gaming after the crash of 1983. With 62 million units sold, the NES introduced Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Mega Man — the foundations of modern video games. Original NES cartridges are now real retro collector’s items.
- The notorious 72-pin connector can get dirty after 35+ years — a clean usually fixes a flashing picture.
- PAL-A (UK/Italy/Australia) and PAL-B (rest of Europe) cartridges differ in their lockout chip — a PAL-A game does not start on a PAL-B NES and vice versa, even though both run at 50 Hz.
- Cartridges have no battery, except RPG-style titles (Zelda) with a save battery that can run flat after decades.
- Sought after as loose cartridges in good condition: The Legend of Zelda (gold cartridge), Metroid, the Mega Man series and Castlevania.
Our tip: Is your NES picture flashing? That is almost always down to the 72-pin connector or dirty cartridge contacts, not the game itself. We clean every cartridge and test it on real hardware before sale.
