About this item

Original 3DS XL (old model, not New) — plays the full 3DS and DS library. Fully reset and put through our standard console checklist: both screens checked for dead pixels, all buttons, sliders, cameras and Wi-Fi tested. Ready to play straight away.

One of a kind — only reserved at checkout

30-day working guarantee · personally tested

Shipping ₪187.86 — your parcel leaves the Netherlands.

Order more than one and you share the shipping: a second game rides along free.

Goods worth up to US$75 (shipping not counted) arrive without VAT or duty. Above US$75, Israel charges 18% VAT, collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee; above US$500 customs duty can be added — none of this is included in the price at checkout.

Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

Shipping to Israel

Small parcel (1-3 games), tracked: ₪125.19
Parcel (console / 4+ items), tracked: ₪187.86
Delivery time: 8-15 working days

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses a customs border, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Goods worth up to US$75 (shipping not counted) arrive without VAT or duty. Above US$75, Israel charges 18% VAT, collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee; above US$500 customs duty can be added too — none of this is included in the price at checkout.

On your console in Israel: European (PAL) console: 230 V like Israel's mains (only the plug differs) — it plays European games, and region-free ones from anywhere.

Israel is outside the EU. If the goods in your parcel are worth US$75 or less, you pay nothing: personal imports up to that value are exempt, and shipping does not count towards it. From US$75 up to US$500, customs duty is waived but Israel charges 18% VAT (and purchase tax where it applies), collected by Israel Post before delivery together with a handling fee. Above US$500 the parcel is treated as a regular import, and customs duty and purchase tax can be added. Parcels from the same sender within 72 hours count together. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in Israeli shekels — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — ₪15.32, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the ₪125.19 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product

Nintendo 3DS XL Silver — original Nintendo retro, personally checked.

Powered on and tested before shipping: screen, buttons and charging checked. Condition: see the photos of this exact unit — technically flawless. This console has a touchscreen with stylus. The included stylus is not always the original Nintendo one — it may also be a well-fitting replacement stylus; it works exactly the same on the screen.

The Nintendo 3DS came out in 2011: autostereoscopic 3D screen, StreetPass, backwards compatible with DS games. On original hardware the whole library runs the way it was meant to — no emulator stutter, no input lag.

Who is this for? Players who want to relive the retro era, parents passing their childhood on to their kids, and collectors completing their Nintendo 3DS collection.

European (PAL) console: 230 V like Israel's mains (only the plug differs) — it plays European games, and region-free ones from anywhere. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.

Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to Israel: from ₪187.86; no VAT or duty on goods up to US$75, above that Israel Post collects 18% VAT. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?

For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.

Does it work?: Here: Both screens, buttons, hinge, charging and ports checked — exactly what’s included is listed with the item.; Private seller: ‘Works fine’ — you find out at home.
Is it original?: Here: Shell and circuit board inspected; a replaced shell or screen is stated honestly.; Private seller: A replaced screen or shell is rarely mentioned.
If it disappoints?: Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.; Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
Who’s behind it?: Here: One person, who has held this device personally and answers your question personally.; Private seller: Varies per listing.

Why you still remember this

The slider for depth

The 3D slider up and then sitting dead still to keep it sharp. StreetPass hats from strangers after a day in town, and a shop on the console that has since closed for good.

One copy, this copy. Since the eShop closed in March 2023, a second-hand console with cartridges is the only way into this library.

What we see with Nintendo 3DS consoles

Our experience

With a second-hand console, the difference rarely lies in the electronics and almost always in what moves or lights up: both screens, the buttons, the hinge and the charging. Those are exactly the points we check on every device before it is shipped.

Our tip

With a second-hand device, look above all at the screen and the hinge — buttons and a power supply can still be replaced later, a screen or hinge is a lot harder.

About the Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS (2011) is the direct successor to the DS and adds a glasses-free 3D effect to the top screen. The platform is fully backwards compatible with all DS games, which means you can effectively play 3,000+ titles. The 3DS eShop closed in March 2023 — since then, physical cartridges are the only way to get new content.

Fully backwards compatible with all Nintendo DS games.
The 3D effect can be switched off — it works in 2D for comfort during long sessions.
The eShop has been closed since March 2023. Physical 3DS cartridges get more expensive every year as supply dwindles.
Pokémon X/Y, Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon and Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D are the most sought-after titles.
