Shipping NZ$81.95 — your parcel leaves the Netherlands.
Order more than one and you share the shipping: a second game rides along free.
Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars). Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.
Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

The price you see is the price you are charged, in New Zealand dollars — our prices follow the ECB exchange rate at a fixed shop rate. Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay all work, and your bank converts nothing.

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars); above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.
On a New Zealand console: European (PAL) edition — New Zealand shares the PAL region with Europe, so it plays on your Game Boy Advance, region lock or not. Game text in English unless the name says otherwise; the box and manual are the European print.
New Zealand is outside the EU. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border: we are not registered for New Zealand GST, so nothing is added — Customs may only apply a small import levy of a few dollars per consignment. Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee, collected before delivery. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in New Zealand dollars — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.
Why does shipping abroad cost this much?
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — NZ$8.81, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the NZ$81.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product
Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Game Boy Advance — a title from the Mario universe, a cornerstone of any Nintendo collection.
Puzzle platformer with Mini Mario toys. 100 levels, brainteasers — GBA classic from the Mario vs DK series.
Cartridge cleaned and tested on original hardware, ready to play. Clear signs of use on the item, described honestly — the game works perfectly.
The Game Boy Advance came out in 2001: 32-bit ARM processor, wide screen, backwards compatible with Game Boy and GBC games. On the original cartridge the game runs the way it was meant to — and keeps working for years to come.
Who is this for? Anyone who would rather play on a real Game Boy Advance than in an emulator — collectors who want the original in their hands, and players who simply want that feeling back.
European (PAL) edition — New Zealand shares the PAL region with Europe, so it plays on your Game Boy Advance, region lock or not. Game text in English unless the name says otherwise; the box and manual are the European print. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.
Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to New Zealand: from NZ$81.95; no GST or duty on orders up to NZ$1,000. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?
For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.
- Does it work?
- Here: Has been running here — save and label checked — before it went online.
- Private seller: ‘Works’ in the photo. You test it yourself, after buying.
- Is it genuine?
- Here: Six checks: screw, label, circuit board, weight, save and boot. A reproduction doesn’t get through.
- Private seller: Fakes are a plague with Pokémon and GBA games, and in a photo you can’t tell the difference.
- If it disappoints?
- Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.
- Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
- Who’s behind it?
- Here: One person, who has held this game personally and answers your question personally.
- Private seller: Varies per listing.
Why you still remember this
The jump that’s still in your thumb
You only need to hear half a second of the opening tune and you’re back with the thing on your lap — in the back seat, or under the covers with the sound so low nobody heard. That one level you did twenty times until your timing was right — your fingers remember before your head does.
One copy, this copy. Second-hand means there’s no warehouse behind it: what’s here is what there is.

How we test Game Boy Advance games for authenticity
GBA cartridges (2001-2008) are counterfeited a lot, Pokémon first. We go through these five steps on every cartridge. Every Game Boy Advance game in our shop goes through this five-step check before it is sold.
- 1
Y-bit tri-wing screw + cartridge colour
A tri-wing screw is required (not a Phillips screw). The cartridge colour must match the specific game (Pokémon Ruby = dark red-purple, Emerald = forest green, FireRed = vermilion). Fake colours are off.
- 2
Product code AGB-XXXX
On the back: AGB- prefix (Advance Game Boy). AGB-BPEE = Emerald USA, AGB-BPEP = Emerald EU. No prefix, or a meaningless code: then it is a counterfeit.
- 3
PCB Nintendo seal
Open the cartridge with a Y-bit screwdriver. The circuit board has NINTENDO engraved on it, with the correct product code. Counterfeits have a random chip layout or an imitated Nintendo logo.
- 4
Cartridge weight 10-13 grams
An original GBA cartridge weighs about 10 to 13 grams, depending on the circuit board (measured range). Counterfeits with thinner plastic are usually lighter; a different circuit board sometimes makes them heavier.
- 5
Starting up and saving
Insert it into a GBA/GBA SP/DS/DS Lite. The game starts within 2 to 3 seconds. Make a save → eject → reload → the save persists. Fake cartridges: corrupted save after re-inserting, or a crash on the save write.
What we see with Game Boy Advance games
Our experience
GBA cartridges are counterfeited a lot. For every cartridge we go through our six points: tri-wing screw, label print, weight, AGB product code, Nintendo PCB, and a start-up and save test in an original GBA. Pokémon titles are counterfeited most often.
Our tip
GBA cartridges work on all GBA systems (GBA, GBA SP, GBA Micro) and the original DS + DS Lite (NOT on DSi/3DS). If you want a lit screen, choose a GBA SP AGS-101 or a GBA Micro.
About this specific copy
This copy is in "Fair condition" — working, but with visible wear (scratches, signs of use). Our grading is conservative.

About the Game Boy Advance
The Game Boy Advance (2001) is Nintendo’s most sought-after retro handheld right now. With 82 million units sold and a library of 1,000+ games, the GBA has a huge legacy. Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Zelda: The Minish Cap are icons that only get scarcer as supply dwindles.
- Backwards compatible with original Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges — except the Micro, which only plays GBA.
- Four handheld models: the original GBA (widescreen, no light), SP AGS-001 (clamshell, frontlit), SP AGS-101 (backlit, the best) and Micro (tiny, GBA games only).
- The battery in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald runs flat after 15+ years — the game and the save still work, only the clock and the timed events stop. The coin cell can be replaced.
- The GBA is the most counterfeited Nintendo handheld — check for tri-wing (Y-shaped) screws on the back as an authenticity check.
Our tip: With a GBA cartridge, the tri-wing screw is your best friend: an original has a Y-shaped screw, fake cartridges use an ordinary Phillips screw. Always check before buying.
