Shipping NZ$81.95 — your parcel leaves the Netherlands.

Order more than one and you share the shipping: a second game rides along free.

Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars). Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

The price you see is the price you are charged, in New Zealand dollars — our prices follow the ECB exchange rate at a fixed shop rate. Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay all work, and your bank converts nothing.

Shipping to New Zealand

Small parcel (1-3 games), tracked: NZ$81.95
Parcel (console / 4+ items), tracked: NZ$139.98
Delivery time: 8-14 working days

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border (Customs may apply a small levy of a few dollars); above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

On a New Zealand console: European (PAL) edition — New Zealand shares the PAL region with Europe, so it plays on your Nintendo Switch, region lock or not. Game text in English unless the name says otherwise; the box and manual are the European print.

New Zealand is outside the EU. Orders up to NZ$1,000 are not charged GST or duty at the border: we are not registered for New Zealand GST, so nothing is added — Customs may only apply a small import levy of a few dollars per consignment. Above NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs charges 15% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import entry fee, collected before delivery. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in New Zealand dollars — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — NZ$8.81, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the NZ$81.95 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product

Kuifje Reporter: De Sigaren van de Farao for Nintendo Switch — original and personally checked.

Adventure game based on the Tintin album Cigars of the Pharaoh.

With its original box — increasingly hard to find in this condition and a highlight in any collection. Cartridge cleaned and tested on original hardware, ready to play.

The Nintendo Switch came out in 2017: docked TV mode and handheld in one — over 150 million sold. A physical copy plays on any Nintendo Switch and is not tied to an account or a licence.

Who is this for? Anyone who wants to play the game second-hand without paying the new price, and simply lend it out or sell it on later. And anyone who would rather have something real on the shelf than a download.

European (PAL) edition — New Zealand shares the PAL region with Europe, so it plays on your Nintendo Switch, region lock or not. Game text in English unless the name says otherwise; the box and manual are the European print. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.

Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to New Zealand: from NZ$81.95; no GST or duty on orders up to NZ$1,000. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?

For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.

Does it work?: Here: Has been running here — save and label checked — before it went online.; Private seller: ‘Works’ in the photo. You test it yourself, after buying.
Is it genuine?: Here: Label, product code on the back, colour and shape of the card, and booting. A reproduction doesn’t get through.; Private seller: Fakes are a plague with Pokémon and GBA games, and in a photo you can’t tell the difference.
If it disappoints?: Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.; Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
Who’s behind it?: Here: One person, who has held this game personally and answers your question personally.; Private seller: Varies per listing.

Will it work on my console?

Compatibility — Nintendo Switch

Authenticity check

How we test Nintendo Switch games for authenticity

Switch cartridges (2017-present) have a bitter coating against counterfeiting. We go through these five steps. Every Nintendo Switch game in our shop goes through this five-step check before it is sold.

1
Bitter coating (anti-swallowing)
Original Switch cartridges have a bitter anti-swallowing coating (child safety). Licking an original cartridge = extremely bitter. Fakes lack it (not a recommended test, but it works).
2
Product code HAC-P-XXXXX
On the back: an HAC-P code (HAC is the internal name of the Switch), for example HAC-P-AAAAA for Breath of the Wild. If the code is missing or does not match the game on the label, something is wrong.
3
Label print quality
Sharp print, correct colours. Pokémon titles: "Pokémon" with a perfect é accent. Fakes are dull grey or forget the é.
4
Cartridge plastic colour
Standard matte grey-black with a light texture. Fakes are often shiny, the wrong shade of black, or the label-edge colour is off.
5
Start-up test in a Switch
The cartridge starts to the title screen within 3 to 5 seconds. Original cartridges integrate seamlessly with the Nintendo Account + eShop. Fakes give "data corrupted" or open a strange launcher app.

What we see with Nintendo Switch games

Our experience

Switch cartridges have a bitter anti-swallowing coating (child safety — licking tastes bitter). We check the HAC prefix product code + label print + boot in a Switch. Fakes are usually easy to detect — Switch security is one of the best of the Nintendo platforms.

Our tip

Switch cartridges work on all Switch models (original Switch, OLED, Lite). The Nintendo Switch 2 (since June 2025) is backwards compatible — Switch 1 cartridges stay usable for years.

About this specific copy

This copy comes with its original box. A manual or inserts may be included, but we do not guarantee them.

About the Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch (2017) is Nintendo’s hybrid platform — it plays both on the TV and in handheld mode. With well over 150 million units sold and a library of 12,000+ titles (physical + digital), the Switch is, together with the DS, the best-selling Nintendo platform ever. The Switch 2 (June 2025) plays almost the entire Switch library, so a cartridge bought today stays usable.

Hybrid design — TV (1080p) or handheld (720p) in the same console.
Cartridges do not wear out: a second-hand Switch game plays exactly like a new one.
The Switch 2 is backwards compatible with almost all Switch games.
Exclusive hits: Zelda Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Our tip: Physical or digital? Physical Switch cartridges can be resold (they are not tied to an account) and work on the Switch 2. For long-term ownership, physical is the smartest choice.
