Shipping to the United States

Small parcel (1-3 games), tracked: $38.05
Parcel (console / 4+ items), tracked: $59.35
Delivery time: 6-10 working days

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the ocean, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. US import duties are calculated at checkout and prepaid — nothing is due on delivery.

On a US console: Does not play on a US (NTSC) Wii U: Wii U games are region-locked and this is the European (PAL) edition — for a European console or a region-free modded one only.

US import duty on this item: 12.5% of its price, added at checkout and prepaid — nothing is due on delivery. Prices and checkout are in US dollars at our fixed shop rate — your bank converts nothing.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — $4.93, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the $38.05 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product

Skylanders Giants for Wii U — original Nintendo retro, personally checked.

The second Skylanders game, with the big Giants figures and LightCore figures that light up on the Portal; every figure from Spyro’s Adventure still works.

With its original box — increasingly hard to find in this condition and a highlight in any collection. Disc cleaned and tested, ready to play.

The Wii U came out in 2012: GamePad with touchscreen and exclusives like Splatoon and Mario Kart 8. On the original disc the game runs the way it was meant to — and keeps working for years to come.

Who is this for? Anyone who would rather play on a real Wii U than in an emulator — collectors who want the original in their hands, and players who simply want that feeling back.

Does not play on a US (NTSC) Wii U: Wii U games are region-locked and this is the European (PAL) edition — for a European console or a region-free modded one only. Every item passes our authenticity check (case, disc, print) and a function test — you're buying 100% original.

Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to the US: from $38.05, import duties paid at checkout. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?

For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.

Does it work?: Here: Booted on the console itself and the disc checked for scratches before it went online.; Private seller: ‘Works’ in the photo. You test it yourself, after buying.
Is it genuine?: Here: Nintendo pressing code, case and artwork checked — no burned copy.; Private seller: A burned copy in a genuine case is impossible to spot in a photo.
If it disappoints?: Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.; Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
Who’s behind it?: Here: One person, who has held this game personally and answers your question personally.; Private seller: Varies per listing.

Will it work on my console?

Compatibility — Wii U

Wii U discs only work on the Wii U itself — the Switch is NOT a successor but a different platform.

Compatibility overview for Skylanders Giants: which consoles this disc works on.

Please note

•Wii U discs do NOT work on the Wii (no backwards compatibility the other way round).
•Wii U discs do NOT work on the Switch (completely different hardware).

Authenticity check

How we test Wii U games for authenticity

Wii U discs (2012-2017) have their own 25 GB disc format. Because of the small print runs, many titles are scarce; counterfeits are rare because of that format, but we do check. We go through these five steps. Every Wii U game in our shop goes through this five-step check before it is sold.

1
Disc finish + label
An original Wii U disc has a glossy finish + Nintendo branding + game artwork, and rounded edges that an ordinary DVD does not have.
2
Product code WUP-XXXX
On the disc: WUP- prefix (the internal code of the Wii U). No WUP- prefix = fake or not a Wii U disc.
3
Case + leaflet
Original case: translucent blue with the Wii U logo at the top. Usually there is only a short leaflet inside; the manual is digital on the console.
4
Boot in a Wii U
A Wii U disc only loads on a Wii U console. NOT on a Wii or Switch. An original boots to the Wii U menu in 10-15 sec.
5
Save test
Save data is stored per user on the console (Nintendo Network ID). Save, switch off, load again — a disc that falters there does not go into the shop.

What we see with Wii U games

Our experience

Wii U games had small print runs (13.6 million consoles sold worldwide, against 101.6 million Wii). Many titles are scarce. We check the WUP prefix product code + the Wii U-specific disc finish.

Our tip

Wii U games only work on the Wii U console (the Switch + Wii cannot play Wii U). Some Wii U games (Pokkén Tournament, Xenoblade Chronicles X) are premium collector’s items.

About this specific copy

This copy comes with its original box. A manual or inserts may be included, but we do not guarantee them.

About the Nintendo Wii U

The Wii U (2012) is Nintendo’s commercial flop — only 13.6 million units sold. But the software is top quality: Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, the original Breath of the Wild and Super Mario 3D World are outstanding titles. Many Wii U games later moved to the Switch, but not all of them.

GamePad tablet controller with its own screen — unique in the games industry.
Backwards compatible with all Wii games and Wii controllers.
Native HDMI output — works straight away on any modern TV.
Titles that never came to the Switch: Mario Party 10, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Paper Mario: Color Splash, Nintendo Land and Game & Wario — you can only play them here.

Our tip: The Wii U is one of the most affordable ways to play a wealth of Nintendo games — with the entire Wii library on top. Note: without a working GamePad the console is worth almost nothing, so buy it complete.
