We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the ocean, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. US import duties are calculated at checkout and prepaid — nothing is due on delivery.
On a US console: European (PAL) console: it needs a 230 V power supply and outputs a PAL video signal — not suitable for use in the United States without adapters.
US import duties (12.5%) are added at checkout and prepaid — nothing is due on delivery. Prices and checkout are in US dollars at our fixed shop rate — your bank converts nothing.
Why does shipping abroad cost this much?
Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — $4.93, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the $38.05 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.
That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.
Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

About this product
Game Boy Advance SP Pokemon Groudon Edition — a classic from the Pokémon series, among the most sought-after Nintendo games there are.
The red Groudon version was released on 15 December 2003 exclusively through the Japanese Pokémon Centers and was never sold in Europe — together with the blue Kyogre SP, one of the most sought-after Game Boy Advance SPs.
Powered on and tested before shipping: screen, buttons and charging checked. Condition: see the photos of this exact unit — technically flawless.
The Game Boy Advance came out in 2001: 32-bit ARM processor, wide screen, backwards compatible with Game Boy and GBC games. On original hardware the whole library runs the way it was meant to — no emulator stutter, no input lag.
Who is this for? Players who want to relive the retro era, parents passing their childhood on to their kids, and collectors completing their Game Boy Advance collection.
European (PAL) console: it needs a 230 V power supply and outputs a PAL video signal — not suitable for use in the United States without adapters. Every item passes our authenticity check (shell, board, Nintendo markings) and a function test — you're buying 100% original Nintendo.
Shipped from the Netherlands with PostNL tracking to the US: from $59.35, import duties paid at checkout. 30-day returns.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?
For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.
- Does it work?
- Here: Screen, buttons, hinge, charging and ports checked — exactly what’s included is listed with the item.
- Private seller: ‘Works fine’ — you find out at home.
- Is it original?
- Here: Shell and circuit board inspected; a replaced shell or screen is stated honestly.
- Private seller: A replaced screen or shell is rarely mentioned.
- If it disappoints?
- Here: 30-day cooling-off period, and a 30-day warranty that it works.
- Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
- Who’s behind it?
- Here: One person, who has held this device personally and answers your question personally.
- Private seller: Varies per listing.
Why you still remember this
The click of the lid
Snap it shut when you were called for dinner, open it and carry on exactly where you were. The SP was the first Game Boy you could buy here with its own light, and that felt like luxury — no more lamp posts needed.
One copy, this copy. With a second-hand console the difference is in the screen and the hinge; those two decide how many more years you’ll get out of it, and they’re the hardest to replace.

Which games work on this Game Boy Advance?
This Game Boy Advance plays two generations of cartridges: its own GBA games and the older Game Boy catalogue.
| Plays | Works? |
|---|---|
| Game Boy Advance games | Yes |
| Game Boy and Game Boy Color games | Yes |
- Game Boy Advance games: Its own generation — GBA cartridges are region-free
- Game Boy and Game Boy Color games: Via the built-in Game Boy mode
Please note
- •The Game Boy Micro is the only GBA model without a Game Boy mode — it plays GBA cartridges only.
- •GBA and Game Boy cartridges are region-free: an American or Japanese cartridge simply starts up.
What we see with Game Boy Advance consoles
Our experience
With a second-hand console, the difference rarely lies in the electronics and almost always in what moves or lights up: the screen, the buttons, the hinge and the charging. Those are exactly the points we check on every device before it is shipped.
Our tip
With a second-hand device, look above all at the screen and the hinge — buttons and a power supply can still be replaced later, a screen or hinge is a lot harder.

About the Game Boy Advance
The Game Boy Advance (2001) is Nintendo’s most sought-after retro handheld right now. With 82 million units sold and a library of 1,000+ games, the GBA has a huge legacy. Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Zelda: The Minish Cap are icons that only get scarcer as supply dwindles.
- Backwards compatible with original Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges — except the Micro, which only plays GBA.
- Four handheld models: the original GBA (widescreen, no light), SP AGS-001 (clamshell, frontlit), SP AGS-101 (backlit, the best) and Micro (tiny, GBA games only).
- The battery in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald runs flat after 15+ years — the game and the save still work, only the clock and the timed events stop. The coin cell can be replaced.
