The PlayStation 4 (2013) plays its games from Blu-ray: not a cartridge but a disc, in a blue case. That makes the underside the most important part of a second-hand copy — a cartridge survives a fall, a disc remembers every scratch.

PS4 discs are region-free: an American or Japanese release plays fine on a European console.
