Shipping A$66.41 — your parcel leaves the Netherlands.

Orders up to A$1,000 clear Australian customs without GST or duty. Above A$1,000, Border Force charges 10% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import processing charge before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

Crossing the border costs you more and takes longer. That you accept that anyway means a great deal to me.

Shipping to Australia

Small parcel (1-3 games), tracked: A$66.41
Parcel (console / 4+ items), tracked: A$113.44
Delivery time: 8-14 working days

We ship from the Netherlands: your parcel crosses the world, so it takes longer and costs more than a domestic delivery. Orders up to A$1,000 clear Australian customs without GST or duty; above that, Border Force charges 10% GST (plus duty where it applies) and an import processing charge before delivery — none of it is included in the price at checkout.

On an Australian console: Trading cards carry no region lock: this is the Japanese print.

Australia is outside the EU. Orders up to A$1,000 in value clear customs without GST or duty: we are not registered for Australian GST, so nothing is added. Above A$1,000, Australian Border Force charges 10% GST on the goods and shipping (plus duty where it applies) and an import processing charge, which Australia Post collects before delivery. None of this is included in the price at checkout. You pay in Australian dollars — Credit card or PayPal. The amount at checkout is what your card or PayPal is charged, at our fixed shop rate; your bank converts nothing.

Why does shipping abroad cost this much?

Inside the Netherlands a single game fits through the letterbox — A$7.14, tracking included. That service stops at the border. Anything leaving the country goes with PostNL as an international parcel, which is a different and considerably more expensive service. That is where the A$66.41 comes from: the border itself is not what costs money, the cheap service simply ends there.

That amount covers the PostNL rate to your country plus the packaging: bubble mailer or box, an antistatic sleeve for the cartridge, and tape. We never drop the tracking — on a parcel that crosses a border, shipping without proof of delivery is a risk for both of us.

Without you there would be nothing to grow. Every order that comes in here is the reason this shop can get bigger — and the reason I can keep doing this.

Seen it cheaper elsewhere?

For most titles there’s also a private listing online, sometimes a few euros cheaper. The difference isn’t in the title, but in the copy itself and in everything around it.

Is it genuine?: Here: Print, colour, back, texture and weight checked with the card in hand.; Private seller: Fake cards are everywhere on listing sites, and in a photo you can’t tell the difference.
What condition?: Here: Graded with the card in hand — what’s stated is what you get.; Private seller: ‘Near mint’ means whatever the seller thinks it means.
If it disappoints?: Here: 30-day cooling-off period — not happy, money back.; Private seller: No right of withdrawal: consumer law doesn’t apply between private individuals. Buyer protection only covers the first 48 hours after delivery; after that you’re on your own.
Who’s behind it?: Here: One person, who has held this card personally and answers your question personally.; Private seller: Varies per listing.

Why you still remember this

The card you held up to the lamp to see if it shone

Out of the pack, straight to the light, and within a second you knew whether it was a good one. Then it went in the binder — in a sleeve, in the spot you had kept free. You knew the numbers by heart and knew exactly which one was still missing.

One copy, this copy. A card is one of the few things from back then that you get back exactly as it was: the same card stock, the same print, the same shine.

Authenticity check

How we check Pokémon cards for authenticity

Pokémon cards are counterfeited a lot, and the better fakes cannot be told apart from real ones on a photo. That is why every card in our shop goes through these five checks before it is sold.

1
Light test — the black core layer
A real Pokémon card consists of two layers of card stock with a black core in between. Held against a bright lamp, it lets almost no light through. A counterfeit lacks that core and visibly lights up. This is the quickest and hardest test there is.
2
Edge inspection under magnification
Along the side of a real card runs a thin, even black line — the same core as above, now seen from the side. On a counterfeit that line is missing, greyish or unevenly thick.
3
Print pattern of the artwork
Official cards are printed with a fine, regular rosette pattern. Under a loupe you see a tight dot pattern. Counterfeits show coarse, blurry or irregularly placed dots, especially in flat areas of colour.
4
Font, spacing and the back
The attack text, the HP number and the set symbol are in fixed fonts with fixed spacing. The blue back has a specific colour balance. Different letter weight, crooked alignment or a back that is too dark or too purple are direct signals.
5
Size, weight and feel
A standard card measures 63 × 88 mm and weighs about 1.7 grams. Counterfeits are often a fraction larger or smaller, feel smoother or rather flimsier, and spring back differently.

About this card

What does 002/025 mean?

The collector number is at the bottom left of the card: this is card 2 of the 25 in the main set. That is how you check that you have the right print in your hands — the same artwork appears in different sets with a different number.

How to judge the condition

The photos on this page show exactly the copy you will receive — not a stock photo. Look at the edges, the corners and the surface: what you see in the photo is what lands in your letterbox.
